In the nautical sector, materials are used in conditions that differ from those found in other fields.
Water pipes are often left exposed to the open air, resting on the surfaces of boats and exposed to the sun, humidity and salty air. Over time, all these factors affect the behaviour of the material and also the appearance of the surfaces with which the pipe comes into contact.
Over the years, we realised that our customers had a problem: when using hoses designed for gardening on board boats and yachts, they noticed traces of colour forming on the internal and external surfaces. Furthermore, gardening hoses had no resistance to sunlight and salt.
These observations prompted our development department to get to work. The goal was clear: to create a hose specifically for nautical use, suitable for the marine environment and which would not damage boat surfaces.
Why a hose specifically made for the sea
BAY was created as a hose for water transfer and is designed for boats, yachts and jetties.
Its special phthalate-free compound, combined with a white coating, was chosen to withstand exposure to sunlight and salt, while preventing colour transfer to the surfaces with which the hose comes into contact. BAY is also a lightweight and practical hose, important features for those who live in the world of boating.
In the nautical world, appearance often matters too! A visible hose, left on deck or near the water connections, must blend in with the aesthetics of the boat. The white colour meets this requirement, but also has a practical function: it reduces the risk of unwanted marks or stains.

A product born from real-world use
BAY is the result of a concrete need identified in the field and transformed into a technical solution. It is not a tube ‘adapted’ to boating, but a product developed based on how it is actually used, day after day. When working in contexts like this, the difference is made by the design details and the ability to listen to those who use the product.
This is how BAY was born. Want to find out more? Contact us and discover BAY here.
